Many factors play a role in how our skin ages, like sun exposure, gravity and genetics, just to name a few. The result: wrinkles and more pronounced creases on your forehead. The good news is that with a brow lift, sometimes called a forehead lift, you can help restore a more youthful facial appearance and recapture a more relaxed look.
This procedure cosmetically corrects creases in the forehead skin, hooded upper eyelids and sagging eyebrows. During a brow lift, our surgeon will maneuver tissues to lift the brow and minimize the appearance of wrinkles.
The methods we use to lift the brow include:
The classic lift involves creating one continuous incision within the hair or along the hairline.
An endoscopic lift, where we make a few shorter incisions in the scalp and inserts a scope (a thin tube attached to a camera) into one of the incisions in order to view the tissues from a screen. Our team then uses another device inserted into a different incision to make the necessary alterations. In this procedure, the tissue will be anchored either with a temporary or permanent stitch or anchored below the scalp to keep the tissue in place. Since the incisions are small, this type of brow lift results in minimal visible scarring.
The Consultation
At your consultation, we will review and fully discuss this procedure, giving you plenty of time to ask any questions, while walking you through the next steps if you decide a brow lift may be the answer for you. We’ll also work with you to establish realistic expectations for your surgery based on what you are hoping to accomplish.
